Women's hardball festival announced
Due to demand from existing softball teams we are running an 8-a-side hardball pairs cricket festival on the 3rd September at Wembdon Cricket Club.
Existing and new hard ball teams are welcome to enter the festival. It is our intention to group teams based on ability to avoid mismatched games.
Hardball kit bags for potentially just £50!
To assist teams with a transition to hardball cricket the ECB have very generously supported the initiative by subsidising hard ball kit bags for clubs.
We have put the following essentials in the hard ball kit bag to enable teams to train and play in festivals:
- 4 x pads, 4 x gloves, 2 x bats, 2 x helmets, 1 x wicket keeping gloves, 1 x wicket keeping pads and 1 x wheelie kit bag
The kit bag is worth £450.
If a club enters the festival on the 3rd September they can buy this kitbag for just £150 with an additional £100 being reimbursed to the club upon playing in their first hard ball festival of 2018, thus taking the total cost to the club to just £50!
We will also offer coaching prior to the festival for those teams and players who have not played hardball cricket and want a little practice before they do so.
The potential programme for the 3rd September is as follows:
Festival 1 on Wembdon pitch 1:
Hardball Cricket festival for existing hardball teams.
Festival 2 on Wembdon pitch 2:
Hardball coaching session and festival for new teams/players who want to try.
To apply for a hardball kit bag and/or enter either of the festivals, please complete the following Google Drive form by the 28th August - click here for form
