Roadshow dates announced to unveil new scoring software

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is holding a roadshow at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton to unveil its new state-of-the-art scoring software.

Play-Cricket Scorer Pro – which will be ready for the 2018 season – is a free digital scoring and analysis product that is used on laptops.It can be used to score everything from recreational cricket to the professional game with only one click to score a ball.

The ECB Association of Cricket Officials (ACO) will be visiting  Taunton on the 19th, Cardiff on the 20th andBristol on March 21,  – all 6pm-9pm. The evenings are open to everyone and will include demonstrations and an orientation of how to use the new programme.

Users of the software will be able to access a club’s Play-Cricket database of players and teams, use pitch maps and configure the setup to meet their own needs and preferences. Play-Cricket Scorer Pro also offers easy editing and undo and keyboard shortcuts.

The software is powered by NV interactive who provide digital scoring for the New Zealand cricket team and data and analysis for the High Performance team in Loughborough and 18 First Class Counties.

The team behind Play-Cricket Scorer Pro is continuing to develop the software with the help of members of the scoring community. Every other scorer, club or league will be able to test the product themselves from the end of February.

The launch of Play-Cricket Scorer Pro follows on from Play Cricket Scorer which was released last year.  Developed for the casual scorer  it has been used by over 25k mobile devices. Updated throughout the winter, the app now includes batsman and bowler wagon wheels, manhattans and scoring worms.
