Somerset KO Cup Finals- Preview

The SCB Knockout Cups finals day at The Cooper Associates County Ground on 27th August is fast approaching! Six teams from across Somerset will be battling it out for a place in the history books and some prized silverware.

Minor Cup

In the first final of the day starting at 10am, last year's runners up Trull CC face Lympsham & Belvedere CC for the Minor Cup.
Trull reached the final by beating Ashbrittle 2nds, Huntspill & District and Holford before a comprehensive semi final win over Crewkerne which saw Trull keeper Ford take 5 stumpings!
Lympsham & Belvedere have overcome UBH, Cheddar 2nds, Midsomer Norton 2nds and Temple Cloud 2nds who they defeated in a tight semi final. 

The two finalists find themselves leading the way in Division 4 of the Shrubbery Hotel Somerset Cricket League so expect a close final.

Major Cup

In the Major Cup (starting at 1.15pm), WEPL Prem 1 side, Bridgwater CC face  Prem 1 champions elect Bath CC.

Bridgwater who won the competition in 2015 have beaten North Petherton, Wembdon, Wellington and Glastonbury on route to the final and are likely to have former Somerset bowler Alfonso Thomas in their ranks.

Bath who's last appearance in the Major Cup Final was a defeat by Bridgwater have seen off the challenge of Keynsham, Midsomer Norton and Brislington to make the final. 

Intermediate Cup

The Intermediate Cup (starting at 4.15pm) will be contested by Frome CC and Street CC.  
Current Shrubbery Hotel Somerset Cricket League Premier Division Leaders Frome have seen off the challenge of Timsbury, Bear Flat & Uphill Castle to make the final.

Street have beaten Broadway & Horton, Long Sutton, Butleigh and Taunton St Andrew's 2nds to book their place in the final.

Entry is free to The County Ground to watch the finals and the County Room bar and food outlets will be open all day serving drinks and refreshments.
