Boys Summer District 2017
Monday, 14 August saw the start of the Summer District week for Somerset Cricket Board.
In excess of 120 boys travelled to 4 host venues:
U11s - Wembdon CC
U12s - Downside School
U13s - Nailsea CC
U14s - Taunton School
Both training days and games took place across 3 days with the weather playing it's usual part. Game were on and off, with the final day of U12s played in the indoor school at Downside. However, many thanks should go to the groundsman and host venues for getting the game on and ensuring that games were played where possible and that training days went ahead as planned.
Winners of the Festival for 2017 are:
U11s - Panthers, U12s - all tied, U13s - Tigers, U14s - Tigers
A great many thanks go to all involved in making this Festival successful - hosts, groundstaff, coaches, umpires, parents, players and scorers. A great way to end the cricket season, already looking forward to Spring!
All players that took part in the District Programme will automaticall receive an invitation to trial for 2017/18 Winter Training Squads. The trial dates and times are yet to be confirmed, but will definitely take place during the October half term.
