The England Schools' Cricket Association (ESCA) is responsible for a number of hardball cricket competitions open to all schools across a range of age groups. These offer a platform for competent cricketers and cricketing schools to compete in a traditional game format. The Somerset Schools' Cricket Association (SSCA) organises local fixtures in order to find a county winner at each age group, who will progress to regional finals for the opportunity to progress to the national finals.
